Festival overview
Hanuman Jayanti celebrates the birth of Lord Hanuman, the mighty devotee of Rama who embodies strength, courage, humility and unwavering bhakti. Devotees recite the Hanuman Chalisa, visit temples, and draw inspiration from the perfect servant of the divine.
History & origin
Hanuman, son of the wind-god Vayu, is central to the Ramayana — leaping across the ocean to find Sita, carrying the mountain of healing herbs, and serving Rama with total devotion. His Jayanti honours the qualities that make him beloved across India.

Bhagavad Gita teachings for Hanuman Jayanti
Hanuman is the living example of the Gita's ideal devotee — acting with all his strength, yet utterly surrendered and free of ego. His seva is nishkama karma; his devotion is the bhakti yoga Krishna praises as the surest path (12.6–7).
“One who hates no creature, is friendly and compassionate, free from ego and ever content — that devotee is dear to Me.”
“Fix your mind on Me, be devoted to Me, worship Me, bow to Me; thus united, you shall come to Me.”
